WEEK 8 RECAP:
Following his Week 8 victory and second straight weekly prize (third of the season), Chris has been upgraded from "man to beat" to "undisputed frontrunner." His team is really going strong, and is deep on all levels. This week he picked apart his closest foe at the time, Mike, in a game that demonstrated he is so deep at RB that he could leave DeMarco Murray and his 245 yards the week before on the bench. Behind LeSean McCoy and Ben Rothlisberger, Chris emerged victorious, extended his points lead, became the first owner to break the 1000-point mark, and separated himself in the standings from everyone except Eddie (although he has a commanding 200+ lead in points).

Speaking of Eddie, he is tied for the records lead at 6-2 despite still having the league's lowest point total! This week he went to bat against Jeremie and while he didn't exactly light up the scoreboard, he got the job done. MJD and Eric Weddle for his high scorers. Eddie is winning games, but given the low point totals, will his team have the legs to keep it up for an entire season? Especially since he would lose a tiebreaker with Chris at this point. In any event, he has to be happy with what he's accomplished to date. He's the Tim Tebow of the league: it isn't always pretty, but he gets the W. Well, maybe this week Tebow didn't but hey, God still loves him.

The slide continues for Dan T., as Week 8 marked a third straight loss for our three-time defending champ. Uncle Joe got terrific production from Matthew Stafford and Frank Gore and got off the schnide and back to .500. Dan remains one game out of first, certainly within striking distance. And with Fred Jackson and Tom Brady getting it done, a fourth straight title is still certainly within his grasp.

Dan L. guaranteed a loss--and got a win. Without Matt Forte on a bye week, he still broke 100 points and defeated a fast-fading Paul behind Matt Schaub and Patrick Greenway. Kevin and Tom went to war in the "battle of the big men" and it was Kevin (look out, winner of two straight!) who came out on top. Steven Jackson finally had the game Kevin drafted him for, and even without top guy Aaron Rogers he earned a W. And finally, Nick really stuck it to Marc, as Adrian Peterson, Chris Houston, and Steve Smith went bonkers. Cam Newton lit up in defeat for Marc, but since all his biggest throws were to Smith, it didn't help much.

THIS WEEK'S MATCHUPS:
Uncle Joe (Mongrels) vs. Nick (Purple People Eaters)
Kevin (Motor City Madman) vs. Eddie (Full Hairy Jacket)
Paul (Strictly Business) vs. Tom (SD Spankfest)
Chris (Wlyd Stallyns) vs. Dan L. (Hebrew Hammer)
Dan T. (Inferno) vs. Jeremie (Inferno)
Miks (dcwarpath) vs. Marc (Octomom's P-Word)

MATCHUP OF THE WEEK:
Mike vs. Marc. Both are 5-3 and in the top 4 in scoring. A good matchup on paper and a game both need to win to keep pace with Chris. Honorable mention to Dan T. vs. Jeremie. Jer and Tom are the two guys who have a good record against our three-time champ over the past few season. For the rest of us, it's been shite.

LEAGUE NEWS & NOTES:
-This week's byes; Panthers, Lions, Jaguars, and Vikings. There are no bye weeks in week 10, and then there's a few teams with byes in Week 11, and that will be the end of the bye weeks.
-Starting next week (not this week, but next) there will be a Thursday game every week.
-Just a reminder that the trade deadline is November 19, 2011. All proposed trades must be accepted by that. Trades that are accepted before the deadline but still awaiting the league's vote will do through (provided they're not voted down).
