WEEK 17 RECAP:
The season is now over, and we have two first-time champions. Last week Eddie won the records title, and this week, Chris' points title triumph finally became official. Chris's final point total of 2172.42 is the second highest in league history next to Dan T.'s performance in 2008. Just goes to show you how weird fantasy football can be when Chris outscored our records champion by over 260 points. But it is nice to see new blood winning titles, and that certainly happened here. Congrats to Eddie and Chris, our 2011 records and points champions!

Turning to Week 17 action, The big winner was Tom, who went out with a bang by scoring the highest score of the entire season in his matchup against Uncle Joe. Ray Rice and Drew Brees went bezerk, as they did most of the season. Darrius Heyward-Bey and C.J. Spiller weren't too shabby either. Tom had a very successful season, he finished second in points and was the only owner other than Chris to break 2100 points. He also claimed two weekly titles to his credit. For Joe, Matthew Stafford went off and was the week's highest scoring player, but much of the rest of his team took the week off. It was a disappointing season for arguably the league's most consistent contender, as he finished 11th in both points and records and didn't win any weekly money.

Our records champion Eddie finally went down to defeat at Marc's hands. Michael Crabtree, Willis McGahee, Malcolm Floyd, and Jonathan Stewart came through to propel Marc to victory. It was another good season for Marc, another owner in contention almost every year. Marc finished 10-7 and was one of only two owners that won three weekly prizes, essentially getting his entry fee back. For Eddie, it was one of the most interesting seasons in the history of the league. A 10th place finish in points and no weekly prizes, but he won the records title and always outscored his opponent. And sometimes, that's all that matters!

Chris also went out in defeat, although on his sword as he scored well but not as well as Dan T. Dan got a typically good week from Tom Brady and also got good points from Percy Harvin and Brandon Pettigrew. Although his quest for four straight titles didn't end well, Dan had a good season, finishing 10-7 and third in points, along with winning the weekly prize in Week 16. For Chris, we've already touched on his point total, and he also came in second in the records race for the second straight year. Add three weekly prizes to his collection and he won $160 this year, the most of any owner.

Jeremie's season was tough, but he left a solid last impression. A big win over Kevin was propelled by Calvin Johnson, Michael Turner (who most experts were saying you should bench this week...good job Jer), and Alex Smith. Jeremie had a difficult campaign, finish last in both records and points as a lot of his high picks (DeSean Jackson, Knowshown Moreno, Sam Bradford) didn't pan out. But he did claim the weekly prize in Week 6. For Kevin the season was also a letdown (or was it? For he claims that as long as he beats Paul it's a success, which he did), as he finished 7-10 and in the bottom 4 in point totals. But he also won a weekly prize and therefore all was not lost.

In a matchup of two guys who've had similar seasons, Paul defeated Mike in a high-scoring affair. Eli Manning, Ahmad Bradshaw, and Larry Fitzgerald did most of the damage for Paul, who finished 9-8 and fourth in overall points. Injuries played a huge role in Paul's season, with Peyton Manning and Andre Johnson being the most obvious examples. But in the end, it was a good season as he won two weekly prizes in addition to a decent finish. Mike was right on Paul's heels in points and records, finishing 8-9 and sizth in overall points, injuries to Jahvid Best and an underachieving season from Philip Rivers hurt him. He also earned a weekly prize in Week 9.

And finally, Nick bested Dan L. in the only game where one guy didn't break 100 points. Nick rode Victor Cruz and Brandon Lloyd to a win along with Tony Romo and Steve Smith. For Nick, the season could have been better if he'd not lost so many close games. He had a good point total but finished 7-10 and will forever be haunted by his guarantee during the draft that Marcedes Lewis would be the season's #1 tight end. Nick won two weekly prizes and got to own his favorite player, Adrian Peterson. Dan was on a roll for a while and was still in title contention despite losing first-round pick Jamaal Charles right off the bat. He whethered the storm with Rob Gronkowski and made a timely trade for Marshawn Lynch but once Matt Forte went down, it was all downhill and he lost his last 4 to finish 8-9 and 8th in overall scoring as well as winning one weekly prize.

Overall it was a memorable season, and amazingly, 11 of 12 owners won some money (sorry Uncle Joe...but at least you've won plenty of money in the past). Congrats to Eddie, our 2011 records champion, and to Chris, our 2011 points titleholder. Have a great summer everyone, and see you next year!
